About
Palmer Plants is a plant nursery on Calverley Lane, Farsley, growing and selling trees, shrubs and other plants to the public and to trade customers. It began in 1982 as Palmer Nurseries, supplying Palmer Landscapes and other trade buyers; John and Margaret Palmer later bought land and put up the glasshouses, tunnels and potting shed still in use, and the site opened to the public as Palmer Plants in 1995.
The company was incorporated in October 2020 and its directors are Samantha Hall and Margaret Palmer. It says it was set up on the belief that it would not follow other garden centres, keeping the focus on plants, and it runs the Little Leaf Cafe on site. In 2021 it won planning permission for a two-storey building with retail space, a café, a children's play area and a 66-space car park.
