De Baga Mehfil is an Indian restaurant and cocktail bar on Stainbeck Lane in Chapel Allerton, owned by Mandeep Singh. It opened in 2022 as the second De Baga site — the original opened in Headingley in 2019 — and took the name De Baga Mehfil in June 2024 to give the Chapel Allerton branch its own identity. It remains a two-site, one-owner local operation rather than a chain. Executive chef Clive Silveira, who trained in Goa, leads a menu of modern Indian and Goan-influenced dishes alongside a cocktail list, with a resident DJ at weekends. The Headingley original won Taste of the Year (North of England) at the 2022 Asian Food & Restaurant Awards, and the Chapel Allerton site holds a 4.5-star rating from more than 240 OpenTable reviews.

A small independent restaurant at Stainbeck Corner, run by chef-owner Rab Adams — a physics graduate turned Le Cordon Bleu-trained cook who has worked at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Hedone and York's Le Cochon Aveugle. Hern serves a daily-changing set menu built around seasonal, local produce, in a dining room of around eighteen seats. The kitchen works whole animals and close to zero waste — vegetable trimmings become stock, fruit by-products become cordials and ice cream. It has been a finalist at the Yorkshire Evening Post's Oliver Awards and is rated 'Very Good' in The Good Food Guide. The name comes from 'herne', an old word for a corner — a nod to its spot at Stainbeck Corner.
